Business Card Design - what do you think?

Here's my current business card draft. The front logo will be covered in metallic foil, thus the metallic mock-up image seen below. Sizes seem bigger than standard business cards since I've kept the extra bleed edges in.

What do you think? Anything I could improve on?

Yes, please use a larger font size. The card is sharp though.

 

From what I could dig up, the font size I used is pretty much at regulation (e.g., 6pt for contact information and 7pt for name and title at 300DPI). My target audience isn't really the older market anyway, but I'll keep that in mind for sure and see if I can increase it.

The red doesn't match your color scheme in the card very well..
And the slogan should be spaced a little down more..

 

Well the red and blue are basically my branding colors. As for the slogan, it could probably comes down a few points. I'll look into it.

I'm actually wondering if I should arch the 'Steel Frog' a bit, or leave it as is.

 

just be careful as you get it printed, the smallest white letters are likely to fill in with ink...

Yeah, that design looks flawless but, like innovati said, I would be careful with the small white letters, they will fill in with ink.

It's a good looking design. May I suggest that you create a secondary design (front only) that includes your web address with your logo so that you can print out magnets as well. Magnets aren't quite as common as a business card, and will allow more visability and reminders of your business. Your contacts can place a magnet on a filing cabinet in their office or on the fridge at home... thus your branding is always visable rather than being filed away with all the other business cards your contacts get.

You can home print magnets yourself with your current design. Places like Walmart or business supply stores often carry magnet paper that will run through most ink jet printers.

Also I would suggest creating a larger version (post card size) of your card that includes contact information on the front. These are good for places that allow youto hang business cards in their store.

And last... an 8x10 size card with contact info on the front is good for placement in store windows. The larger size is still unobtrusive to most stores, yet is readable from the street/sidewalk. Those you will want to print on card stalk paper or photo paper.

Again... you have a great design and I hope my suggestions will help.

Here's an updated version with a slightly larger font for the contact information. I've also arched the title a bit.

[EDIT] I've printed a proof that the shop provided to me and it still needs a bit of tine-tuning. The lighter "noise" in the background doesn't show up and the font will be tweaked a little.
[EDIT2] And it's off to the print shop! Here's the proof images.

The pink is where foil will overlay. The card is standard stock, glossy. It's going to look awesome.

 

i think letter 'O' change with frog... be nice..

I like the first example, very professional looking, but not after you have arched the text.

 

overall its a nice design concept.
definately out of the ordinary.
but the arched text doesnt look right at all..

 

Read the blog.... looks great. I use the same printing company you chose, and they do excellent work, and do have great deals. I purchased all of my business items (magnets, post cards, greeting cards, letter head, business cards, etc.) through them. I'm excited to see what the card looks like with the foil accents.
