With the recent activity on this forum for selling avatars their surely has to be a market for this server. Could sell avatars on forums, blogs, facebook, myspace, digg, etc etc

I have the domain avatar-ads.com registered if anyone wants to buy it (avatarads.com wants $900).

Ain't gonna work imho. DP is very famous (In the top 125 sites of the world) so people might consider buying avatars from here, but not from other thousands of forums online

Just say top 100 forums, plus top 10 social networking sites (digg, facebook, myspace, etc).
100 forums x 100 users = 10,000 avatars
10 x 500 users = 5,000 avatars

Average price per avatar = $30/month

30*5000 = 150,000 / 2 (avatarads cut) = $75,000/month

I consider that almost the MAX potential.

 

The other thing you are forgetting is that the admins of MOST of the forums don't allow such commercial activity

DP will always be unique... one of the few forums worth buying sigs and avatars in, other forums arent love by google as much... :x

there are many forums with more then a million post, it would depend on the active members of the community and product or service, accordingly a forum can be chosen for branding.

like sig ads, avatars would work for sure, a good custom site can do well, good idea.

Run radio commercials for your web site on your local talk AM radio. ;-)

You can do ROS and even PI (per inquiry) related buys. And often you can buy weekend time cheap, (<$10 per spot) on good name shows like O'Reilly, Hannity, Dave Ramsey, Savage, Randi Rhodes. A lot of those shows are replayed on weekends and pull thousands and thousands of listeners, depending on the city you live in. On a CPL basis, it's pennies.
