    Hi guys,

New to the forums. Hoping to get some good advice.

I run two companies. One is a propane business call Harris Propane. The other is called Harris Services. This company does all Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing work.

I am trying to figure out a way to promote both companies in one site. What would you guys recommend for some website URL ideas. harrispropane.com is taken which really messes me up. I was hoping to have that site for my propane and have a couple landing sites for the services bring my customers to one primary site but I hit a road block.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

i was recommended that as well. Do you guys recommended having the same letter next to each other to separate names such as the two S's?

should i stay away from harrispropane.net?

Having the same letter next to each other wouldn't be a problem, besides the name isn't that hard to spell and it is easy to remember.
Harrispropane would be great too, .net wouldn't be a problem also besides it is one of those top level domain extensions.
The only issue that you are likely to encounter is that when people go straight on their browser and put on your domain, the first thing that will come up to their mind is the .com extension. Which is kinda the disadvantage of using .net; misleading.

For a business I would highly recommend going with only *.com domain. As mentioned above it is highly expected by your customers and I wouldn't stray from it. Simply gives you more credibility.

On domain name - seems like both businesses have one thing in common: word Harris. Instead of zeroing in on specific side of your business like propane, service, etc how about branding name:

    harrisllc.com or
    harrisinc.com or
    harris[locationnamehere].com

    You get the ideas...
