As I believe only those can be tracked by Google Analytics are REAL/GENUINE visitors, can you estimate how many of them will show up in GA for every 10,000 visitors you send? Thanks!

We have found that Google Analytics does not display all visitors, we are still yet to figure this one out. However we do have customers finding that the majority of the traffic is displayed in GA, however, we send our traffic through a bit.ly to allow for easy tracking for all parties. Hope this helps.

We've had couple of queries of late from Digital Point members asking how they can monitor their traffic flow. I would like to take this post to explain.

All traffic is sent through a bit.ly link (visit www.bit.ly for more information). By using a bit.ly link, every visitor that passes through this link is recorded to allow you to track the traffic flow.

Using the bit.ly link also allows you to monitor where the traffic is from, eg. Worldwide, UK or US and Canada.

We will set all of this up for you so you have nothing to worry about. The bit.ly will be setup within 24hrs and we will then forward this on to you to allow you to monitor your traffic.

We have included a couple of screenshots below from recent campaigns we have undertaken;


Traffic flow set to 400-500 per day to start, this was then set to slow down towards the end of the campaign.


Traffic for this campaign was set to Worldwide, you can see from the above image traffic stems from all parts of the world. If the traffic had been set to UK or US/Canada, traffic would only be seen from these locations. Great for setting up affiliate campaigns when targeting select areas.

The problem is not about traffic, but the final conversion in profits.

 

This is a very valid point. However we do find that time on site from this traffic can be approximately 3 minutes across many different website niches. This is mainly down to the quality of the website and also the sheer numbers of people visiting.

I've had a couple people email me lately asking if the traffic can be tracked through Google Analytics, the answer is yes. Visitors will appear in the referring sites section of GA.

Traffic can also be tracked by all other analytics packages.

 

Just a quick note regarding the Alexa ranking. Alexa Ranking is a system used to rank websites in order of popularity, the lower the Alexa ranking the more popular a site.

Eg. A site with an Alexa ranking of 1 would mean your site is extremely popular and has visits of well over 100k per day. A site with a n Alexa Ranking of 8,000,000 is a site with very little visitors and a rarely used site.

How is this score calculated?
Alexa Ranking is calculated using the Alexa toolbar which many people have installed, this toolbar sends data back to Alexa to allow them to rank a site.

How can an Alexa Rank effect your site?
Despite displaying that your website is popular, a low Alexa Ranking will also increase the value of your website. If you are interested in selling your website, you may wish to lower your Alexa ranking first.

 

I thought I would share this image I have been given by one of our buyers who uses our traffic as a source to drive his Adsense business.
