Buying diggs...would you/have you?

I have just wrote an extensive article and want a cheap way of promoting it. I've noticed people buying diggs, up to 50 at a time and have thought about doing it myself.

Although purchasing votes is immoral, people do it all the time and I am discussing it to get some feedback. So, if you have bought a large amount of diggs before or use the site to promote yours, can you offer some advice etc?

Also, wow much traffic do you think 50 diggs would give if I got them all within say two hours?

I think it is a silly thing to do and a waste of money.
Your article will never make it to the front page imho if it is lame. People will quickly bury it.
