Can Anyone Suggest Me a Laptop?

I'm in the market for a laptop. I want one that can handle graphics programs and is $1300 or under. Anyone have one they just love? Thanks! Oh, and preferrably not a MAC though I know they're the best.

Most likely hard to find one that handles graphics really well for that price. I got a built to order systemax for about $2000 that I'm very happy with. It is equivelent to a dell xps that would be around $3000. So if you don't need things like 24/7 support or a well know brand name you can get more bang for your buck by getting something without all the bells and whistles.

I have a Sony Vaio with an Nvidia Graphics card that works pretty well..but if I had it to do over with I would probably build to order too...You can probably find some1 to do that and offer a warranty comparable to any brand name, like Xezor said-just without the 24/7 support. But whos awake at 3am anyway??? :)

Thanks for the feedback. It is much appreciated. I was actually looking for a build to order system as well, but after reading the reviews, I was dissuaded. The pricing was GREAT, and most people seemed happy with their systems, but the shipping methods used were a problem and I don't have time nor the desire to deal.

There was also a high percentage of machines arriving to people that didn't work or had improperly installed components, so I kinda ditched the idea. I will check out Systemax though.

    Just a heads-up...

I just got a laptop from the dell "refurbished" stock...it is WONDERFUL and only cost me $609 shipped to my door! It is a nice dual core, 2-gig RAM, 120 gig hard drive that was returned to Dell and had a few minor cosmetic blemishes (a few small scratches on the case).

I'd head on over to the Dell site and look into their listing of refurbished machines. You just might get lucky.

    Good luck to you.

BTW - Never used a mac...but I would certainly consider one...

Whoever said it's hard to find a PC that handles graphics well at that price. . . It's not.

My laptop was 850 dollars and it runs all my Adobe CS3 applications very fast and without glitches, it's perfect.

I just got a new laptop that I use for graphics. I have a Dell Desktop that still runs like a champ, so I got another Dell. I got the Inspiron 1525, Core2Duo 1.66, 2gb ram, 160g hd, for only $700. It was on sale, so I had to pick it up. I love it so far.
