There are tons of lyric sites out there. You would have to do something above just the lyrics to really make it a hit which in turn could make a profit.

Consider the work of adding clips of the song or a link to download the song the lyrics are for. That venture alone will take a lot of time but if you put in the work it can and will most likely pay off.

Forget it all, don't start a website with only profit in it's prospect. Try creating a website of a topic that you really like.

When you're creating and promoting a website for a topic that you don't even like, you're going to loose interest in it and eventually you'll drop the site.

Think about a topic (niche) what you really like, then go from there. Profit will come in the long term, don't expect to create a website and get instand profit, my suggestion is to invest time, money and great ideas into your website.

    That's the only way imo.

There are tons of lyrics sites, however, there is also virtually unlimited content. I have recently put up a lyrics site and it is clear it will be a slow process to build traffic. But I am confident it is a good idea to pursue, for me.

    Here are some thoughts.

    1. You do risk getting a letter from the lyrics copyright holders asking you to remnove some lyrics. My take, big deal. You get the letter, remove that content and move on.

    2. You will need to do something to diferentiate your site, since there will be hundreds if not thousands of pages with the identical lyrics. I am trying several things on my site, but one is to include some of the great free content that is available at sites like youtube.com where you can embed a video of a singer, etc.

That is all for now. Good luck.
