    Hi there

    I have recently started a blog http://www.ollysguitar.com

I have installed the ability for people to digg me. I do not really know what this is and how it benefits me.

    Can someone please explain?

    Thanks a lot

Digg and Stumble are basiclly socially driven websites where people can Digg or stumble you site (not 100% sure on stumble because I don't use it).
The point of this is that the more people that vote up your site the more backlinks you gain (this is good), and the more visitors (this is also good).
There are a couple of downsides. You get hundred, sometimes hundreds of thousands of sites like digg that eat up your bandwidth, but don't buy your product click you ads etc. And many visitors wont return. But you can gain enormous amount of publicity.

Tips for Digg (and probably Stumble):
Don't spam your site if it doesn't have front page worthy content. People get pissed off and your site can be banned.

Don't game the system by creating lots of accounts. Again bans, annoys people.

Hopefully this has cleared stuff up.

Edit: BTW, nice site, like the layout. One thing I would recommend is add the compact version of the digg button, i think it would blend in nicer with your site.

Hi thanks for the response. I have changed the digg button as suggested.

So Do I actaully need to have a digg account for people to vote my site or is it up and running as it is?

    Thanks for the feedback

No you don't need a Digg account as other people will submit and start the digg process. I think as a starter tip I would create an account and start submitting your first articles to get you back link count up and start getting visitors.
