I'm trying to remove the background from my website logo.
The logo is a coat of arms.
The background is white but the only problem is that there's also white on the coat of arms itself so i don't know how to get rid of the background.
What i'm actually trying to do is give the image a transparent (or near enough) background so i can place it over any other coloured background.
    Thanks.

Upload it and link to it. Put up the biggest image you can. Somebody will do it for you - sounds like about 60 seconds work :)

Figured out how to do it now.
Thanks everyone for all your help/suggestions.
    Here's how to do it:
    1) Open Photoshop,
    2) Open your image in photoshop,
    3) Go to the lft hand tools, hover mouse over the Eraser & Rt click, then select 'Magic Eraser,'
    4) Place your cursor over the background & Lft click your mouse, that should make any background transparent.
You can repeat the operation if there's any other pockets of transparent background you wish to place inside your image.

    Thanks for this boothjul.
I've had photoshop for a while but only use around 10% of it. Just tried what you said on one of my logos and it worked a treat. ;)
