    I've used adsense since the beginning of the month and have barely made $5. I'm thinking of putting pictures next to the ad units, in the same way that I have it for one of the link units. Is this a good idea? Feel free to give me some tips on whatever else needs to be improved thanks.:)

    Not much, I get around 100-120 page impressions for both each day. I just set up analytics and it seems slow so I dont really know the number of unique visitors. Most of my traffic is from bookmarking my posts on digg and reddit

    What is your CTR? I mean $5 dollars is a good start. Just keep working on getting traffic and writting great content and you will get there. We all wish we had the "easy button".

    Work on marketing your site and increasing your traffic before worrying about ad placement etc. You can optimize your ads to their fullest but they mean little if all you're getting is 100 impressions a day. I'd guess 10 or 20 of those are from you. The real important number is UNIQUE visitors, not impressions.
