    I've got a standard horizontal banner ad in the center of the screen and a link unit blended in with the page content. Any ideas on how I could improve on this?

    The page is OK. Horizontal readings of long messages hurt a bit. But you could have more clicks if you blend that top leaderboard like ad between "compete quantcast" and "additional statistics".
    hope this helps. and of course blend the colors.

    How about now? I moved the horizontal banner down lower on the page and changed the location of the link unit. I also made the search box more prominent.
