    Guys,

You think the placement of Adsense on my site - thequotes.info is apt? Any suggestions for improvements?

Well, when I finally was able to load ads instead of PSAs... psychic readings and spirtuality (development and prayers). Oh and life insurance quotes.

You should try section targeting (or ignoring) to help avoid certain kinds of ads.

    Going off topic slightly:
Have you tried amazon, too? You could try affiliate links to books about the people quotes are from or to general quote books. This might bring some revenue.

I think your color scheme could be hurting you. Check out my article I wrote for Chris at WebSitePublisher.net: http://www.websitepublisher.net/article/adsense-optimization/

Here is a brief rundown of what I would do:
    1. lighten the background color
    2. darken the text color
    3. chop that header image in half
    4. As shoe said, put the ads more in the way. Specifically, I'd stick the traditional sized banned right underneath the headlines instead of under the post. Actually, I'd put a box-sized add under the first post.
    5. Match the blog font with Adsense, its Verdana
    6. Test & Re-test. Thats the number one rule here. Its painless to do and doesn't cost you a penny, but it can double, triple, or even quadroople your income.

I got one word for all of you - THANKS.

Very valuable suggestions, and I will make sure that in the next few days I implement these.

I think Amazon idea is fabulous, I will definitely try that.

Based on the suggestions, I changed the layout of the ads to fall more in the way. I hope this improves the CTR. I will let you know how it goes.

    Thanks for all your help.

A skyscraper would mean too many ads. Unless the OP wants to show lots of insurance quote ads, or religious sprituality. I doubt they want to, though. ;-)

The adlink unit is showing links for quotation related ads, though. So at least there are those.

Your site is very interesting and seems like it can bring in a lot of ad clicks. I have a little problem with all the different font schemes, but, those google links tempting enough to click.
