Can this business model work?

At the moment i have access to over 75 word press themes. Would it be possible for me to tell people to pick a theme they like and i build a website for them based on that theme. Would people pay for this service compared to having one uniquely done?
Im not offering just yet, i would like thoughts and opinions first! Thanks.

I would recommend becoming an affiliate with HostGator a let people sign up with them when building a website. You will make $50 - $125 more!

Yes it could do as long as you where providing hosting as part of a package. On the downside there's dozens of very cheap hosting packages where they can click and install wordpress and 100s of free templates / themes.

You would be on pushing up hill all the time to get customers paying for your service.

If you want to sell them, you have to modify them to have a unique offer.

Create a website that offers free wordpress themes and plaster the site with affiliate links and PPC ads.

Yeah this works and you're actually not the first to get this idea. Try contacting some local companies and pitch them that deal where you will make them their company website (if they don't already have one) and tell them it's gonna cost them x amount per pages and x amount for the maintenance each month. You can easily make in the range of $200 to $500 per month per company with this method. Do this for 20 companies or more and... you get the point. :)
