Can you make money with expired domains and traffic?

I've read throughout the web about buying expired domains for their traffic, and putting ad linkedx parking pages on them ala the famed "Ultsearch." Can such a thing actually be done? Has anyone here done it?

Maybe on an industrial level - but any domains with good converting traffic would no doubt be kept, whilst the other stuff may trickle for a few months until it disappears. There are happier and better ways to make an income. :)

seems like a lot of work and investment to chase pennies.

Pennies? Ultsearch was making high 5 figures a day before he sold his portfolio. He has now started collecting traffic domains again. Maybe he knows something you don't. ;)

I agree. The domain market is nothing like it was 5 or 6 years ago. It has become a game of "Who has the deepest pockets". If you don't have a 5 figure budget to blow on a single name, you don't stand a chance of getting anything with any real value. I usually pick up what's left and make the best of it :D
