Canadian company accounts

Here in the UK we have an organisation called Companies House which has downloadable accounts available for all limited companies. Is there something similar available in Canada?

 

Can you clarify what you mean with "downloadable accounts" ? Are you looking to start a company in Canada?

 

Err, no. In the UK limited company accounts are public information and Companies House is the organisation responsible for making them available to the public. I wanted to check out the accounts of some companies based in Canada.

 

If you are looking for just information on companies - you can find it through the Canadian government portal at:

http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/sc_coinf/engdoc/homepage.html?categories=e_com

Startegis will provide some limited fianlcial info on the companies aswell. If you are lookig to see if they have a good credit rating you may want to try equifax or other credit bureaus.
