Cancer

Cancer is pretty serious. I know some people who have it and my own mother has it . When my friends find out they are like "oh my aunt died from cancer". IMO that's not the most encouraging information lol...

Do you have somebody in your family or a friend who has cancer?

I'm sure one day they will cure it...

 

My Mom had cancer, but she has been in remission for years now.

 

2 Grandparents. I think that's probably in my future too.

 

Sorry to hear that your mum has cancer, I recently found out that a family member was diagnosed with prostrate cancer.

I had Ovarian Cancer when i was 30yrs old..i had 2 surgery, 30 days apart and chemotherapy. My father died of Lung cancer and 1 year later my grandmother died of breast cancer...had a uncle to died of Lung cancer 4 yrs ago(54yrs) we didn't expect him to died as sudden as he did but i quess if you smoke your at risk,right?

It seems to be more and more common these days. Thank that on our pollution driven society... the air in major cities is toxic.

 

The mother of my girlfriend died 1 day after her 18'th birthday. I was there to witness it. Not a very nice experience.

 

I had my father with colon cancer, but he recovered

Unfortunately my uncle and my cousin are battling against 2 different kinds.

Then there's my 10 year old nephew, who was dignosed with leukemia almost 2 years ago, but so far, so good, and on February the 25th he should complete his therapy. I have to keep my fingers crossed.

I agree with fworth, not only in association with cancer but with all degenerative diseases, if you smoke, give up, it is the best health decision you will every make. On average, smoking will take 6 years off your life.

No, I know that uca. Genuine people will post genuine concerns and stories of life tragedies. I'm just basing my question on the initial post and apparent lack of depth considering such an emotive topic.

 

Yeah my mom didn't get it from cigarettes although she does smoke. The doctors say she may as well keep smoking because the cancer will get her before the smoking will.

 

If you smoke or not smoke. Our deaths are decided by god! What about those people who gets cancer even though they are not smokers....What about those smokers who happily enjoy their tenure on this planet earth till their death. If you are not a smoker do not try for that. If you are smoker try to avoid smoking and have a god fear!

My dog, Senna, died having cancer and she did not smoke, she ate healthy meals, didn't work in dangerous environments, didn't have a mobile phone and so on...

There's still a lot to be discovered about cancer and I can only say that people that have cancer should fight because there's always hope, sometimes help can come from God or whatever you believe in, sometimes from science, or maybe from both....
