Cannot send to hotmail

My client has roughly 5,000 subscribers that are all opt-in. They are local people who are interested in sales he has ongoing.

We've been having issues being able to send to @hotmail.com addresses, which I think about 50% are. I could not find any contact/form for hotmail to try to resolve this issue.

Does anyone know how/why we may be blocked?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this (if we sent from another domain, would that work? Another IP?). Thanks in advance

hotmail takes most of the stuff as spam

 

make sure that reverse DNS, SPF and "SenderID" are setup for your domain. then check the http://postmaster.msn.com link that CrazyRob posted.
I had the same problem - i found out that MSN/Hotmail had blocked my entire IP range because of some spammers in my neighborhood. once i proved that i had a dedicated server, and that i dont sell viagra, they fixed me up..

 

This is why having your autoresponder run by a good company is so much important. Try a different domain, also try to make sure you have no stop words in your email message. It could be a word causing the problem, the domain or a url in the message. Try changing them...

Setup a hotmail address for yourself and send yourself a email from that domain where you have problems with, check the junk mailbox inside hotmail.

I agree with Ana. A 5000 opt-in list is nothing to be tampered with. A good autoresponder should only cost you around $20/mo. Plus maybe you have the word 'free' or some other spammy word in your title or message?
