Can't make my own decisions.

I have a big decision to make. It seems I have become a hot commodity as of late. I work for a nice private highschool in Macon , GA. I was just offered a position on faculty at a small college nearby. I also met a retired gentlemen who is starting a new company selling imported chemicals. They are also hiring multiple chemist at the airforce base nearby. I am lost.

You need to decide which job is a better fit for your passions. Obvious if you love teaching then you should decide between the highschool and college positions.

If you think you would enjoy the fast pace of a small start-up then you should go with the new company position. This position will have the most stress and risk involved, but will have the highest upside potential.

If you just want a stable job and paycheck then go to work for the governement position at the airforce base.

You just need to evaluate your priorities and passions and see where that leads you.

The first thing I'd consider is, "How desperate am I to add to my income?" Are you in heavy debt? Do you desperately need a fast injection of cash? If the answer is, "Not at all" to both, then I'd go with what made me happy, and I know has a future for me. If it's all about the money -- well, that seems obvious where you should go -- whoever pays the most!

    2 cents.

unfortunately i am heavy in debt. i am working hard to get out of it. but i also love being and educator. it is so hard. i made mistakes in the past and honestly didn't care about life at all. but now things are so different. and i feel like my debt will determine my life. and it is breaking me apart. i can't even ask the girl i want to marry to marry me because i dont want to burdern her.

Here's another option, considering what you've said above: Take the big money, pay off your debt, then quit and come back to the job that you love. Tell your old bosses that you are forced to do this because of personal financial problems, but that you want to come back when your financial situatoin is settled. I.e. not only should you NOT burn bridges with your old employers, but get them on your side. If they like you as much as you like them, they won't only understand, they'll encourage you to save yourself, and leave the door open for you to return.

My suggestion would be for u to sit in silence and think about ur passion, n i guess its being an educator... u can make a lot of money being one! the only hurdle is determination and focus! focus on ur goal n u will in no time get out of the debt, but the price is endeavour, perseverence , hardwork , focus and faith in ur self!

    Dont panic ,
    Dont think negative,
stay calm and think before taking a step......
    do a cost/benefit analysis...
    have faith in God...
    n u will win!

thanks to you both for the advice. those are the options i toggle.

i am a good guy. my friends tell me i never take time to look for number one.

i have many options being a chemist and having a entrepeneurial attitude. but i love education.

i suffered with low self esteem for years and it has cost me a lot. both financially and physically/emotionally. only after a friend killed himself did I decide i didnt want that to be me.

so i am trucking along trying to improve myself and my condition every day. i have a good job and met a good girl. i like my hobbies (webdesign, brainstorming, helping). but i feel like this wave of debt is going to take me over. it seem insurmountable and sometimes i feel like drowning in it. I can usually pick myself up.

sorry to confess on here but it has really hit me hard lately.

Always prefer listening to your heart
whatever the case be, just close your eyes, be calm and listen to what your heart says
working for loads of money but leading a miserable life or working for lesser money and leading a pleasant and satisfying life
    the option is urs :)

The only way out of debt is to stick it through and pay them off as and when you can. Make that a % of your income and keep paying. With lots of dedication and hard work, I'm sure you'll clear them!
