Chat??

I know this would probably defeat the purpose of the DP forums, but it would be cool if there was a chat room for people who frequent DP to ask quick questions, talk with others, etc.

An IRC server or channel on someone else's server would be great, or even an AIM chat room.

Just a random thought. Obviously I can see how this may not be wanted as there would be a slight decrease in posts on the forums, but it may also alleviate the posts containing simple questions we see quite often.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

 

Search the forums. There are threads about this topic and Nintendo may have started a chatroom, I cannot remember.

 

Me and Nintendo did it for a few days, but it died down.

You think Shawn would put up a link to it? That would probably keep it more active. We all know the boards are very active. I got 2 replies to this post within 2 minutes of posting, lol.

Thanks for the compliment, Mike. Appreciate it. Wish I could get it on more sites and sell some ad space in the emails and on the page. Was thinking about starting a link building campaign for it, but not sure if it would be worth it.

 

Thats because time spent in a chat room does not add content for his forums. He can rank for all kinds of keywords by us posting here.

 

We've added a log that recorded all the conversation of the chatroom.

What happened was then that Ninno's server crashed and chose not to rebuild the chat yet. But then again, the question is what people here like.

I have been to dnforum lately and there they have a chatroom, but it's only like 15 members at a time in there while 200 are posting in the forums and reading. So the question is what would be best .... You decide

hmmmm im not a chat person. I cant keep up most of the time. I used to be able to but now im used to forums.

 

Until 2 years ago I used to hang in the afternic chat room all the time, it was pretty addictive back then

 

chat gets too confusing.

I would use it, I have just started using MSN again and chat non stop bollocks. It's better than forums.

 

I think a chat room would be nice if things didn't get too off-topic.

Off-topic = How many goldfish do you have? How often do you feed them? etc.

On-topic = Anything related to the sole purpose/subject of the DP forums.
