The whole issue with Cindy Sheehan just shows the true colors or our government and the Bush admin. Getting thrown out of a room because someone doesn't like what your shirt says is a first class violation of the first amendment.

What I think they really didn't want people to see is the truth. Cindy's shirt which had the number 2245(the number of US troops killed in Iraq) along with the words "how many more" must have been to much for those present to handle.

One thing I've learned about this world is that people hate the truth. It always hurts and they will do anything in their power to avoid it.

Bush is a coward. He couldn't even meet with Cindy to explain to her why her son died. The reason is because there is no good reason. He died so a bunch of rich old men could become wealthier, and further gain more control over the world's resources.

The war in Iraq and 911 has benefited the Bush administration. George W. Bush his father and the Carlyle group have made billions off 911, and Bush has gained more power than ever. This is why I believe the Bush admin is behind 911.

In Italy, when a crime was commited, and you were brought before a judge, one question was asked to determine the guilty party. The question was "cui bono" or translated "who benefits?"

Usually the one who benefited from a crime is the one who commited it.

If you weren't retarded you would have read where they not only threw sheehan out but also the wife of a congressman who was wearing a support our troops shirt.

It is interesting that Sheehan was cuffed and thrown in jail, whereas the the congressman's wife was kindly asked to leave.

After each was asked to leave:

    Congressman's wife complied and left.

    Sheehan (accused) tried resisting.

1 Amendment protects speech, not conduct; so, she was arrested.

I suspect that getting arrested (or at least forcibly removed) was part of the strategy as that is what gets headlines and further highlights her cause. Their wouldn't have been much of a story if she just got up and left.

People have been physically removed from events being put on by both parties. There was a bunch of Republican knuckleheads that wouldn't stop chanting at one of the Democrats conventions.

I guess you didn't do so well in comprehensive reading while you were in school, because you totally missed the point of the post.

The point I was trying to make is that while the Bush administration claims to care about American's freedoms, they turn around and toss a woman out of the room when she exercises her freedom.

How many other people were thrown out with Cindy is completely irrelevant.

Tesla, you are showing extreme ignorance, you may want to read what really happened. To start- what is the reason both sheehan and the wife of a congressman were asked to leave? What is the policy that was in place that they both were being accussed of breaking? geeeesh........

Also, did you know that Bush had met with Sheehan after her son's death?

probably not.... you obviously get only one sided views of the subject....

post after getting some facts man!

Whatever policy was in place doesn't really matter. The Constitution is supposed to be the most important policy in the US. Therefore, anything that violates it(like throwing someone out of a room because what their shirt says) is a violation of that document.

I was aware of the fact that Bush has spoken to Cindy before. But he made himself look bad by refusing to speak with her when she made a public request.

I don't know everything, and I try to get as many facts as I can.

Keen observation. To have civil unrest (verses just civil protest), you need the unrest part since it usually results in more articles about your cause. Same reason White Supremacists march in all non-"white" areas. It results in more arrests and more newspaper coverage.

Don't think this happened up here in northeast, they prevent 1 Amendment exercises with heavy regulation, not outright prevention. The recent DNC convention had a 'protester-allowed' area two blocks from the convention. The news about that was anti-WTO protested, not being allowed to protest close enough to the convention. It was entertaining on the news here. :D

From what I have read on a couple news articles was that it was the second one he refused, and she made sure it was very public. It was if she had completely changed her views after her first visit.

But, anyways, I truely feel sorry for the lady losing her son, but she should be proud of her son wanting to serve the country.

If rules are set on how you can appear in court and you come in without clothes on, do you expect them to ignore the rule for your freedom of expression?

I think ysf1 hit the nail on the head - she wanted to get arrested.

So what is the limit? How many times does the President have to make himself/herself available upon request to the private citizens?

He's never answered any of my requests for a sit-down to make healthcare costs a 100% tax deductible.

Correct, it was the second one he refused... I expect she was too overcome with grief to have clear views and to have expressed her sentiments at first and then rued missing the chance to give Bush a piece of her mind. In that time, soon after someone extremely close has died, you can't always see clearly or "get you thoughts together". I can only assume it took a little time before the enormity of the situation sunk in.
Yep, likewise. And I feel deeply sorry for the parents of the other 2450 fatalities on our side, not to mention the reported 20k casualties and the Iraqi civilian deaths, reputed to be over 10k.
True, but to what end? I'm sure many parents were proud of their sons in all other conflicts, whether they were being slaughtered on the fields of the Somme, invading Poland, "conquering" Ethiopia, deforesting swathes of far eastern jungles with chemicals hazardous to human development... I'm proud of my family's military standings but not always happy with the situations they're sent into. In the forces you can serve your country but your country might not serve you.

But Cindy Sheehan has plenty of spirit - she is after all "just" a citizen ;)

As for Sheehan, I'm guessing the closet person(s) that can tell the truth about her mental processes, would be her husband and surviving children. Has the media covered them at all?

Actually they were both asked to simply cover up their shirts. Sheehan refused and when asked to leave, did not, and was arrested. The "congressmen's wife", was asked the same, and voluntarily removed herself without incident.

    There's the difference.

Which is exactly why she was there, and why she was invited.

Yes, and last I heard, she was such a raving lunatic they left her. What a sad women.
