There isn't much to re-think, higher oil prices are what they want. The US is oil hungry, almost 100% of the oil industry is controlled by a small group of people. Ever hear of Rockefeller? How about Standard Oil, the company that make him america's first billionaire and one of the most powerfull men in the world... Standard Oil held a monopolistic 97%+ of America's Oil market before the gov. forced Standard to split into several smaller companies (Exxon, Mobil, etc.)

Now there is way more to it than just that but basically the higher the oil prices, the more money goes into the pockets of America's corporate elite and the politicians on their payrolls... it's a win-win situation, except for the avg. Joe, but who cares about us little people anyway...

Iraq *is* an Oil war, I can't recall the last time Iraq sent an invading army into the USA.

Let's not forget the weapons manufacturers... $$$ :D

itsme you must remember that you are attempting to educate blind bias bigots that live in a smokescreen that can't understand that America does not support Bush and Cheney, just the 30% of them! :D

hey---some of you need to get a grip

WASHINGTON - Capitol Police dropped a charge of unlawful conduct against anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan on Wednesday and apologized for ejecting her and a congressman's wife from President Bush's State of the Union address for wearing T-shirts with war messages.

"The officers made a good faith, but mistaken effort to enforce an old unwritten interpretation of the prohibitions about demonstrating in the Capitol," Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer said in a statement late Wednesday.

I'm not trying to educate anyone... I just like to fuel the fire! ;)

I love seeing how far these conversations can go. The down side is that I tend to accumulate red rep much faster this way! :D

In general I like your threads/posts, very interesting stuff, and I'd say at least 80% true (if not more). People like to shrug things off with a simple explanation of "conspiracy theory!", "whacko!", etc... but if you dig a little deeper into the facts and history of the people involved in much of the news worthy events/wars/problems, you'll find that they are all *very* closely related. In many cases there is a history of the same small group of very rich, very powerfull families stirring up shit and causing problems for their own benefit (and others' missery).

On a side note, ever notice the ratio of American presidents that were/were not Freemasons? How about astronauts? How about the Ultra Rich? How about Charles Price of Wales who REFUSED to become a freemason and coincidently will NEVER inherit the thrown... interesting...

You assume that war was for the benefit of American people and that is the reason it doesn't make sense for you with higher oil prices. Instead think that this was was for the benefit of oil companies and you end up with 100,000,000,000 dollars extra profit /year for oil companies only on domestic production in USA. ;)

    It makes very much sense.

Factual data and truth is not how Bush got in office, so we can't expect his supporters to engage in any of it either, that is the way I look at it!

Here we have a woman that lost her Son and is fighting to end this war that we can't win, the government has acknowledged this already, but Iraq is now a military base we must maintain for a wider war down the road and for oil.

Here we go again, another 30,000 views thread on DP.....

You see folks, the Republicans like to focus on people like Cindy and Hillary, in that way they can take attention away from serious Democratic candidates keeping the race close enough for Diebold and the Supreme Court to decide again! :D

It is up to us on the other side to focus attention on the silly spies in the White House that want to send our kids to fight for their oil fields, that is why they are fat bastards!

Seems to me the war has already been won, it's main objectives have been successfully completed... Control over Middle Eastern Oil supply, Record Profits for american Corps. and the american people truely believe it was about Saddam and the "war on terror".

Iraq as a military base is great, since they took it by force there is no need to strike any political deals with foriegn contries and paying crazy $$$ for it. Mission Accomplished.

There isn't much difference between politics and prostitution, people get f***ed for money both ways... at least the whores work for it... ;)

Did you see the State of the Union address last night??

We have Bush claiming that Iran must be stopped from developing Nuclear weapons, it was the same speech he gave on Saddam before the Iraq invasion, it made me sick!

We have enough nuclear weapons in our submarines to destroy the entire earth 25 times over, so Iran with a few weapons is no threat, Russia has had them for 50 years pointed at us!

Anthony---I am not GOP---I respectfully disagree. They want to wipe Isreal from the face of the earth. This is the war we should have had...Is it too late? Probally.

    Damned if you do...
