class action against yahoo inc?

i got a letter yesterday with huge bold "LEGAL DOCUMENT" written on it.. which made my heart sink when reading it

i opened it up and its a class action suit against yahoo inc..
i have no idea why i got this letter.. it says i have bought ads from yahoo in the past and i can file a complaint and get the money back..

the thing is i havnt given yahoo or any of its sites a single cent
anyone else get one of these?

 

This is probably from some low-life law firm trying to make money by creating more misery for everyone.

 

watch out it could also be a scam, kinda like that Nigeria scam that makes the rounds. They may ask for a little money for "a legal clerical fee to include you in the class action suit" where you can then make bigger money. BTW my brother was once involved in the class action suit against the Future Shop and his side won. He got a couple of bucks. The lawyers got the rest.

 

yeah i know its some kind of spam or scam since i havnt spent a dime with yahoo yet

girlfriend comes in and says i have a letter from a lawyer and as it usually goes i thought i was in trouble for a copyright infringment or something

 

I got one but I do advertise on Yahoo..

 

I got one too, I threw it away. I didn't advertise, I just registered and checked out some stuff I think.

 

got one as well, not an advertiser....I think it is lawyers fishing after finding out about the google settlement...read it and you will see that their fee is incredibly high...
