Classifieds scripts or wordpress classified themes

I have been thinking of starting a classifieds site in a big way and also have the funds lined up

Searching for classifieds scripts I came upo with many options and one of them are wordpress classfieds themes

I found wp themes to be more beautifull and customer friendly and more modern

But what I want to know is will wp themes be able to cope with heavy traffic ?? as I am planning good advertising and all that to boost traffic

Is it better to buy a php script or a wp theme ??

I am also interested in the same subject because I want to do a classified ads website for my country so I have done some of my homework. Along with others I am Wordpress developer (Still learning) and I can talk from experience when I say that you should go with a stand alone script.

I was searching for an open source script because whenever a bug appears a lot of people will try to solve it and the things will settle pretty fast. I came across this platform and I found it quite interesting. Maybe you want to have a look.

But I will say this again. Go with a stand alone script and not with a wp theme It is just my opinion and how I will choose. In fact how I already chosen

That depends a bit on what you want. WP Themes are good for WP users, but these tend to not scale well. I would go with a dedicated script if you want to take your site big.

If you want to cover a niche then a WP Theme will also do.

 

Starting a classified site should not be taken lightly and you must plan it very well before jumping to any script or theme. Make a list of what classified features you want in your site and then browse the good scripts and theme available on the Market.

 

It's better to go for the script instead of the wordpress plugins there are lots of php script options, instead the wordpress plugins, you have fewer options and mostly are outdated/broken/unsupported.

The WP has some issues but if it is OK for you you can try as it is free (I think). At the same time you can check all possible trials from different developers of classifieds software and compare them. I think it is the only way to choose the best option for you.
