CMP or United Entertainment Media

Has anyone advertised with any of the two names CMP or United entertainment media? I have and I am very disgusted.

I purchased a 3 month ad prepaid at 140 per momth for 3 months. After speaking with the salesperson from united entertainment media I made it very clear that my ad was to be prepaid before each month was supposed to go through on a three month contract. Well 6 months later I start getting mail stating I owe money for an ad, and then the harrassing phone calls come. I speak with the next person from united entertainment media and cmp telling me I owe them more money. I start asking questions why it is not considered paid. This has gone on for quite some time, and the person is always different. I get notices for both 140 and a few of them for the full amount of the contract for 420 +interest to a new total of 476.48 with a threat to be listed in www.latepayers.com if I do not imediately pay 476.48.

My questions are: whether or not the 140 was paid which neither they nor me can provide proof...
Should I be even worried? Should CMP United Entertainment Media in void of our contract when they waited 6 months to tell me on an invoice that should have been prepaid?
They won't let me speak with the agent that sold me the ad.
I agreed twice that they can bill my card if they leave me alone, the first time no one contacted me again, the second time I asked them to provide me with a document from a manager of cmp or united entertainment media stating that this is the last time and my balance is clear. Now they want me to sign and fax a new contract to be signed which is not personallized to me at all.

The worst part of all it is only 140 dollars, but even when I aggree to pay the bogus charges again, they still bother me and nothing gets done.

    What should I do?
note to self: never advertise in any magazine again, ever. Does anyone else ever even get any results when advertising in a magazine?

Don't pay them a penny, throw away all of their collection letters and hang up on them when they call.

Dispute all of the charges on your credit card and make a claim that they defrauded you to your credit card company and get all of your money back.

They are going to ruin your credit anyway and you might as well fight for your money because they are going to try to ruin you.

You are at war so be as ruthless as they will be with you.

They have already turned you over to a collection agency, so screw them and get your money back.
