CMS and Static html site

The insurance site in my footer has been built to nearly 280 static pages. I am thinking of changing to a CMS for all new content. Can you have both static pages and a CMS?

I also started doing an RSS syndication file manually, but I am growing tired of doing it on my own. If I add the CMS can I keep the same RSS file name I have now and have it updated automatically as new content is added. Yahoo has already picked up my RSS feed in the SERP description so I would like to keep it that way.

    Hello,

Yes you can have both static and cms, altho, if you get some custom coded cms, using mod_rewrite to generate the links like you currently have on your site (.html) you can re-add all your content to the new system (it is pretty easy) and convert whole site to cms. If done propertly, google wouldnt notice it. I looked at your site structure and it seems like it would be easy to perform. But the cms would have to be made custom for your website.

RSS feeds can also be generated using your latest articles. The RSS would be exactly the same, so yahoo won't notice the change.

Why would the CMS have to be custom? Just curious. I am new to all of this and don't know much about CMS

Joomla has this built in. You can create "static content" pages. I have them sprinkled around sites I build for finer control
