    Noob here needs help! :confused:

    What are the basic differences and similarities between CMS applications and WYSWYG sitebuilding editors?

    Please tell me in layman's terms, i might find it hard to comprehend too technical elaborations. I'd appreciate if you can include some pros and cons on each.

    Hello, and don't fret. This stuff takes some time. :)

    To keep it simple, a WYSIWYG Editor is just that - a high-powered editor that allows you to edit/alter/add content to a single web page.

    A CMS, or Content Management System, is a full-blown application that allows Content Addition/Editing, Publishing and Templating, Member Management, and a slew of other features that an editor simply doesn't have.

    In other words, CMS uses Editor, but an Editor is not a CMS.
