    Hi guys, i got a perfect domain for a gaming fansite and i would like to know what would be the best cms for this type of sites.
    I have a good web php mysql xhtm and css knowledge and so i guess i could use any cms, but i really have to time to create a new one for this site.

    I will have to offer the following:

    About
    -And subcategories
    News
    -And categories
    Downloads
    - And categories
    Links
    Simple Content Pages

    etc, etc

    Joomla or wordpress are two of the industry leaders. Depending on exactly what you are doing would determin which one.

    I would go with Joomla.

    here is one I started to develop for joomla but I never finished (client didnt pay)

    Anyhow, Joomla works great for gaming portals/clan sites
