    Hi
    So, I've been reading through all the threads about Social Networking scripts.
    I want a Social Networking site with a very similar feature list to Buddy Zone. I'd like to know:

    1. How long would it take me to design a site like this from scratch (as a newbie) using a CMS
    2. Which CMS should I use? I'm guessing Drupal rather than Joomla...

    i have a network site which is made with joomla . i strongly suggest you to use joomla for that

    what are your thoughts on xoops? I'm looking to create a social network site as well . . . . i'm a long time wordpress user and would like to keep a lot of the user friendly functionality . . . . what are your thoughts?

    Sounds very interesting. I've been looking for something like this for quite some time but of all the solutions out there, they all seem terrible. Will the software work by itself, or will it need to be integrated with some sort of CMS (wordpress, drupal, etc.)?

    phpRaven can run on its own as a full social networking website, it comes already integrated with a forum software and a Wordpress-on-steroids CMS/Blog system.

    Ultimately, phpRaven is an open source social networking platform for which we want to build a developer and user base community where new add-ons, plug-ins and applications are shared, sold and distributed.
