CMS that is the best for creating search engine optimized pages?

I understand that search engine have difficulties with dynamic pages and that some CMS have the ability to create static pages instead. So my question is, what’s the best CMS for creating search engine friendly websites?

I have been using Joomla for about 3 months and I used a plugin to make all my site content to be search engine friendly...I think that all CMS can be search engine friendly with the right plugin installed

 

I'm on wordpress and it's possible to make it search engine friendly. Just require some tweaking of settings from the admin page. Take for example, by default wordpress will show your category as url.com?cat=1

With a simple tweak, it can show your url with your category name such as url.com?category-name.htm

This will help tremendously too if you put up Adsense codes as the bots look at your url for some important keywords.

i agree. If you want to have a cms with se friendly pages, just look for a cms you would like to use, and check if they have this function. Quite easy though! Most cms software has plugins, or like most of the times, has it by default, so you can just switch it on or off!

 

joomla is the best ,but i used drupal just for 1 months and my page were indes by yahoo msn in very short time drupal is simple joomla a little bit complex but its good

 

Wordpress is pretty slick if you use the URL ReWrite portion, makes all pages SEF

 

Joomla with built in SEF is pretty nice and simple to configure. My site needs about 2-3 weeks to be indexed by google

 

I am using Nucleus CMS for 2 years - it has a lot of instruments for SEO

 

I used drupal and mambo (equivalent to joomla)... IMHO, drupal is better as just need to run default clean url function for SE friendliness whereas for Joomla, need to install plugin blah blah.... Also I like simple interface for drupal and IMHO, drupal pages loads faster than mambo.

 

I like joomla with sef advance, a paid plugin.

 

not sure what kind of site you are planning to develop.

I have seen most of the people using joomla, and implementing SEF into that, I have personally developed on CMS for Articles and News Management system, whch has SEF urls, somthing like if you post an article "my firts article", it will create a page like my-first-article-1.html file.. I dont want to make my post look like a spam, if you are interested, I can show you the demo in PM..

I would say Joomla and a plug in called opensef(.org). Its free and has one of the Joomla project developers making it. I use it on my site below, the URL's are clean and automatically generated.

 

I would say Joomla. It's free and has some excellent components. I use OpenSEF (http://www.open-sef.org/) and it does not only create search engine friendly URLs based on category and section in the CMS, it creates dynamic keywords based on content, analyse densitiy etc.

I use it on www.whatweplay.be (site in English)

i've just installed civicspace, a community-themed mod for drupal and it seems like a kick-ass product at this moment. Will comment more on it after i give it an extended test drive.

 

was just wondering why no one mentions phpnuke? Im new to CMS and would like to transfer my site from html to cms. Is nuke no as good as others or is it more complicated for a regular user? I gave a nuke a try about a year ago and found it to be eyond my level of expertice.

 

It really depends on what you want to do. WP is a very good option because you can optimize everything from the admin page. If you want to build a simple site I would suggest you use WP.

 

Has anyone got any tutorials on what joomla does and how the hell to set it up.

I got a couple questions.

1) Say I have just a simple site, like my companies site per say with an index page, some text, pics, and links on the side.

How would a CMS help me?

I looked at joomla and thought, what the hell its just a portal?

 

In my opinion is better plan the future of the site in advance, if you think your site will remain the same over years a csm don't make sense.
Otherwise using joomla will let you add contents fast,and let attracts more customers by letting the site updated with news, removing dead link without going to ftp.

 

If you want to use Nuke then go with Dragonfly cms.

Its nuke without all the security issues.
