I always thought that I had perfect vision, but this test says I need glasses. I think the results are wrong, could you take it and let me know the results you get?

Designing a web for a color blind user has its problems. I just bookmarked this site for the color blind test.

Out of curiosity, how do you choose colors for your sites? When I looked at yours did not see anything that indicated a problem.

My nephew and fellow I work with are color blind. I can't find any indication in my nephew. He can tell colors of objects and matches his clothing well but he says he just can not make out the numbers on color blind tests.

    Too funny!

I can see the basic colours but I'm lost with colours that are close to each other, like dark green, braun and black for instance, can't really tell the difference.

I work with printing colours in my daily job so I now a bit which colours goes with each other, but with the site fryman showed I can't read the numbers.

You can be colour blind in may ways. My grandad cant tell the difference between most colours eg green and yellow, blue and red. A friend of mine however cant only see the shades of blue. Is it true that only men can be colour blind?

Color blindness in much rarer in females than males but women can be color blind. See http://www.hhmi.org/senses/b130.html The fact that color blindness is so much more prevalent among men implies that, like hemophilia, it is carried on the X chromosome, of which men have only one copy. (As in hemophilia, women are protected because they have two X chromosomes; a normal gene on one chromosome can often make up for a defective gene on the other.)

I'm red/green colourblind, I don't often notice it except in those tests. I really suck at design anyway though so it isn't really a problem :)
