    Hi,

I have a trading blog on which I've put Adsense:

    http://theedge.freesuperhost.com/blog/

The bar at the very top is not mine. It's there as I use a free host.

I have an adsense button on the left with my pic above it. Hopefully that'll draw eyes.

I have an adlink bar just above the main content. It sort of looks like a menu for the web site and I hope it blends.

On the right I have the standard Skyscraper bar.

    Thanks,

    fcmisc

I actually moved it due to some publishing issues. It's now here:

    http://trading-with-the-edge.blogspot.com/

I've been experimenting with posting live news as it occurs. For example, last week I posted news of a fire scare at Moorgate and a security alert at Liverpool Street, within minutes of the rumours occuring.

lol. I can't pretend that high paying ads weren't an initial incentive for setting it up, but unfortunately I've found that the adverts I get aren't always relevant to what I'm writing about. I get far too many ads for get rich quick schemes and third rate brokers. What my readers want are ads for strip bars, fine dining and fast cars. ;)

I'm suprised, my ads are always very targetted on Cramer, brokers, and stock picks.

Give it a while - it can take months to get relevant. How old is your blog?

Make a conscious efforts to use keywords in your entries. I'm not talking about keyword stuffing, but just take a little extra time to choose your words carefully.

According the article, it doesn't violate TOS. I also read through the TOS and did not find any mention of the Nav Bar.

The blog is over a year old. But I haven't maintained it too well and readership levels are low. I get about 10 a day. I don't think I'll start getting good ads until I've had a good number of clicks from which Google can assess what visitors want.

I'm pretty sure it does violate TOS. You can remove the toolbar if you host your blog externally. But if you host it on blogger you need to have it. They obviously need to get something in exchange for hosting your blog.

I think that is exactly correct from what I have seen. I was getting ads about "blogs" and "head and shoulders shampoo" for the longest time, then suddenly the ads seemed to become relevant. It looked like a good three months of steady traffic before they got better - at about 200 uniques per day.

Keep us up to date on you experiment!
