Please help give suggestions for my computer science blog.
Are the ads in a noticeable enough position?

I don't think a blog is really the best site type to use for an information based site. Blogs are for chronologically ordered information.

If you want to be a credible source of comp sci material you have to demonstrate your own knowledge.

I use the Blog+wiki combo on my information based sites. News goes in the blog. Static information goes in the wiki. You bring attention to wiki pages with detailed information using summary entries in the blog.

Get some backlinks because you are not yet indexed in Google when i searched your address.

Your content is very good, i read it and found it interesting. I would recommend you go with Chitika also and display computer hardware products. There is a section by default.

Also for even more relevant ads add section targetting. With the new Blogger beta, i cannot seem to find out where the content variable is. to put section targetting between the content to get good relevant ads.

Thank you everyone! The suggestions are very helpful. With the new beta blogger, it does seem a bit more difficult to section target the post area in my blog. If anyone knows how, please let me know. And in the case of using a blogger, as oppose to creating a wiki type informational site, it would be a lot more difficult for me because I'm still very busy with school and find it to be more convient to use a system which takes care of most of my programming and designing needs. Thanks very all the suggestions!

I would not worry about making it a wiki. If making a blog works for you, who cares? Just make good content and find websites to link to you. There are very good informational sources on CSS that use a blog-format - the pro is that your target audience (techy people) will be able to subscribe via RSS, without you having to code an RSS feed yourself. Since techy people are the only ones who are likely to use RSS in the first place (this may change with IE7, but for now that's still the case), you're in good shape, IMO.
