I see a lot of chit-chat -- I would get out there and tell them we are watching them from around the world. That might make them move faster to prove things. LOL

Ummmm ... the webcam does have an microphone/speaker feature - I have that disabled now ... but it would be pretty funny to enable that and let people chime in! ;-)

    alek

Cool, though one guy seamed to be stuck in a chair. Maybe you have to go there and help pry him loose.

The sad thing is that this was the highlight of my internet day. The nice thing is that I get to go to bed now. Good night everybody.

Yea, the guy in the chair is the "big boss" ... he also likes the shade structure a lot too ... ;-)

BTW, just for grins, I wondered out there a few minutes ago and "posed" for the webcam and said "hi" to our main man Shawn.

I thought you'd like that picture - I even added it to the about concrete webcam page ... and I'll take that "dork comment" (yea, I do look pretty dorky in that picture) as a compliment! ;-)

I MUCH more a digicam guy, but my brief experience with webcams is their image quality basically SUCKS ... really SUCKS!

However, I've been fairly impressed so far with the Dlink DCS 6620G (man. link) - yea, image quality still leave a LOT to be desired compared to your Canon Rebel XT ... but the wireless (worked great all day today), 10x optical zoom (digital zoom is BS as you know), and generall all-around "goodness" is nice ... set me back about $700 at Dell ... but the next step above that (Axis webcams) will set you back 2G's.

Low-light (i.e. nighttime for Xmas lights) quality is still pretty lame ... but that's a really tough situation for any camera.

For those dying to see me working late at night (but not for much longer), I set up the Concrete Cam in my office. There's also a "blog function" on the page, so add a spiffy comment if you feel so inclined! ;-)

FYI FWIW: we're pouring concrete today - about 20 tons worth - check it out on the concrete cam and optionally comment on the concrete blog ... perhaps not surprisingly, I had to add a profanity filter to that the 2nd day it was up ...
