That's a new one on me. I'll have to study on it. I take vitamin D through the winter and tend to back off of it in warm months because I spend a lot of time outside. I spent a 2-year stint once as a pest control tech and never heard that vitamin D was used as rat poison. I did learn that fluoride once was though.

Do you have any ready references I can look at?

@JoeSpirit looks like at about 50%, but I won't be surprised if they reopen everything completely in a week or so. It's Florida. Tuesday we went to the beach, it was packed.

Here in RI, they are allowing limited outdoor dining. It's raining all day today. Even when it is sunny tomorrow, I am not likely to try a restaurant just because of what I expect will be hassles with limited seating, social distancing, etc. I'll wait a bit until it settles down and keep doing take-out. I do expect things to get back to normal faster than the Left wants because once people start seeing things open up, it is going to be hard not to open up completely. That's my hope, anyway.

I do worry for my all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet restaurant. How do they come back with their shared food serving tables, shared serving spoons for each dish, etc.? I miss this restaurant most and am concerned that they will be one of the many that will never re-open. Some are predicting that 25% of restaurants will never open up again. What an unnecessary mess.

There are indeed many sheeple out there that 100% trust and do whatever their government tells them to do. I think it's quite obvious that they (the government) could have handled the situation better (big mistake to cripple the economy) and it wouldn't surprise me if certain corrupt organisations are somehow benefiting greatly from all this. I remember watching a documentary where pharmaceutical companies were raising the price of certain medicines by 5000% and none of them were ever prosecuted or fined. The amount of greed present in this world is incredibly disturbing, so who knows what they have planned for us. Of course only gullible people or sheeple will fall for it, but I for one have my doubts about the vaccines that are currently being developed.

I think you forgot "believes everything the government tells them."

I think that "crippling the economy" thing was intentional. But I do wonder when it was that the government actually handled anything with any level of competence.

Well, we will find out in early June. RI is going into Phase 2 on June 1st, which means restaurants can offer indoor dining with 50% capacity allowed.

Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. Martin Shkreli was sentenced to 7 years in jail and received a $75,000 fine for hiking the drug Daraprim 5,000%.

Our state started reopening already but me and my family decided to stay home for a couple more days since it is still too risky to go outside.

Yes, exactly they believe anything without thinking for themselves. I think so too. I've been watching 60 minutes Australia lately and I'm surprised about how incompetent federal police forces are when it comes to solving crimes. In some cases absolutely nothing is done to identify & catch the killer. The irony is that in some of those cases it's really not even that hard to figure out who the killer was (mostly because the work that was done by the family, witnesses and/or or private investigators), but because the police "accidentally" destroyed the evidence, the killer can't be caught. Not only are they not solving the case, they are actually assisting the killer by destroying crucial evidence.

I remember that it took more than 17 years to catch the Una Bomber. And he only got caught because his own family turned him in. I think that does portray how incompetent the government can be. He was playing with them. Just one man. These were federal organisations being paid top dollar to track down one man and it took them a very long time. People can be incredibly incompetent and the government is no exception, lol.

Watch for a lot more headlines and stories like these in the months ahead as truth and sanity start to prevail over the lockdown nonsense we have been listening to for months now:

Nobel Laureate Scientist: Lockdown ‘May Have’ Cost More Lives Than It Saved, Damage Far Worse Than Positives

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/nobel-laureate-scientist-lockdown-may-have-cost-more-lives-than-it-saved-damage-far-worse-than-positives?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=benshapiro

The scientist quoted is Michael Levitt, a Stanford University professor who correctly predicted the initial trajectory of the pandemic. Here is the "money" quote from this article:

“I think lockdown saved no lives,” Levitt said, adding that social distancing measures, hygiene, and wearing masks should have been sufficient. “I think it may have cost lives. It will have saved a few road accident lives – things like that – but social damage – domestic abuse, divorces, alcoholism – has been extreme. And then you have those who were not treated for other conditions.”

“I think that the real virus was the panic virus,” Levitt continued. “For reasons that were not clear to me, I think the leaders panicked and the people panicked and I think there was a huge lack of discussion.”

“I think the lockdown will cause much more damage than the deaths saved,” Levitt added. “The problem with epidemiologists is that they feel their job is to frighten people into lockdown, social distancing. So you say ‘there’s going to be a million deaths’ and when there are only 25,000 you say ‘it’s good you listened to my advice’. This happened with Ebola and bird flu. It’s just part of the madness.”

And our media knows it. They are now working hard 24/7 to convince everyone that the Swedish experiment (no lock-down) failed. It didn't. The only reason their economy is hurting is because the worldwide economy is hurting. I read local Swedish news, they are not recommending wearing masks in public. They have not mandated a country-wide testing. The only mandatory rule has been no gatherings of more than 50 people. Their neighbor Norway isn't that concerned either. It doesn't mean everything is wonderful. You can't build herd immunity in a short time, but overall, if you read their news, their experiment has been a success.

Just like the Russian Collusion, Ukraine, and other such hoaxes here in the U.S., the Fake News is again seeing their bogus narrative fall apart. They used to love Sweden because of its socialist policies; these days it is "Sweden Bad" just like the "Trump Bad" mantra. Unfortunately, they and the Leftist academia have dumbed down enough of the population to continue to gullibly believe their lockdown BS which includes constantly moving the goalposts in order to justify continued lockdown simply because they are hoping that it will hurt Trump at the polls in November (Spoiler Alert: it won't work and Trump will be easily re-elected.) And don't let the facts about Sweden, FL, GA, etc., etc., get in the way of their Fake News fear-mongering: their subscribers will eat it up, though it will not be enough as the adults in the country start to take back control.

And here is the deal moving forward: I do not see the informed public allowing the crazed, shutdown politicians to re-implement any form of shutdown once we are opened up again, no matter if there is a spike in infections now or in the Fall. The damage caused by this nonsense has been too great to not have permanently damaged the credibility of the blue-state and RINO governors.

A Nobel Prize winning scientist, who correctly predicted in the early days of the pandemic that the initial models were overestimating how bad the outbreak would be, said over the weekend that he believes that the lockdown may end up costing more lives than it saved, and that the economic devastation from the lockdown will outweigh the lives that were lost.

This is what I've been thinking and saying all along. This article confirms it, so thank you for sharing.

Uh oh, the fear mongers who are promoting Coronavirus/Halloween masks are going to be very upset with the World Health Organization. WHO's guidance on healthy people wearing masks in public is now as follows. Here is the lead bullet in their current guidance:

    • If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are taking care of a person with COVID-19.

    https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public/when-and-how-to-use-masks

How is the Fake News/Left/Swamp going to keep promoting the lockdown and the sheeple's irrational fears if we are not all out there wearing masks for no reason other than to remind us of how "scary" this flu virus is? Someone is going to need to re-educate WHO to tow the party line narrative. Otherwise the economy might pick up again and then Trump might win the election which, of course, would defeat their plans once again.

Yesterday's new positive cases count for Indiana reported as nearly double what it was on Wednesday.

Day-to-day variations don't mean much from a trend perspective. A complicating factor for any such count is that states are constantly trying to increase the number of tests they are making every day. That alone will lead to a higher case count, of course. That's why you also have to look at the percentage of positive test results per thousand when looking at higher numbers. Anyway, the virus needs to run its course; the shutdown was not to prevent infections/deaths (not currently possible) but to slow infections down to make sure there was enough hospital capacity. We have now seen how foolish that fear was, given the empty hospitals everywhere and the unused extra capacity we built in a panic and was never used.
