    I'll trade you spots, here is southern oregon, it does get hot in the summer, but I would love to be warm all year round.... A few weeks (3 or 4) a summer of 100 or higher and the winter most days are 40's and 50's not freezing that often.

    You were born for Edmonton (Siberia only with english as native language and better fast food joints)...if you like cold and nothing in the way of ego satisfaction from your enviroment.

    $5k a month will have you in a fine standard of living here. Although in the bigger cities (Vancouver, Toronto) you'd want more than that to live well.

    Don't know about immigration etc...I'm guessing it wouldn't be too bad if you are young and create your own income.

    Ottawa is not bad, 6 hour drive to Toronto and 2 hour drive to Montreal from here :)
