Just a poll to see how many people are interested in entering a pool? To make some bets on the coming World Cup Soccer games in Germany.
If the results will display a positive outcome then it might be interesting to discuss things further.

So if you would like to place a bet on the coming games or not vote yes or no?

Are you talking about a winner-takes-all, name who will win the World Cup type of collective bet?

Well let's first determine how many people would actually be interested ;) These things are open for discussion of course.
I think regarding the outcome of the whole tournament is a option to wager on and on singular games.

Although betting on singular games may result i a lot of winners if only the teams are a factor.
I think regarding singular games the actual score must be the factor that decides who wins the bet or not.

Other options/comments and suggestions are welcome of course

could have bets on the winner of each group?
then do it on the knockout stages

this may sound like a daft question but would it be using real money as who woud keep hold of the money? and if you lost whats to say you just dont pay up?

    Voted no.
If you want to put a bet on a team, do it fairly and securely at betfair instead :) will be too hard to work out the odds and payments, not to mention pointless.

Well one of the moderators whom i fully trust Crazy_Rob or TOPS could collect the funds through Paypal and forward the winnings to the winner(s).
Winner of each group also sounds like an option because there are more choices.

Minus a % percentage for a good cause.
So you would predict a score for a certain game and post it here (A individual thread will be created for each game) and you send the funds to one of the moderators. Moderator will verify just before the game who have send in their funds so any winner will rightfully recieve their winnings.

Right before the game starts...let's say 5 minutes or so the entries are no longer valid anymore.

So a post like: No more bets allowed

Would indicate this and everyone that have made their prediction before this post and that have actually send the funds, confirmed by the Moderator in question by reviewing their Paypal account have right to their winnings.

Someone that did not or send their funds before the ''No more bets allowed'' post is not entitled to recieve any winnings.

Just keep it simple. No odds. Let's say when a game starts 10 people has joined in.
And of these 10 people only one predicted the right outcome of the score he/she will collect the pot minus a fee for the good cause.

When there are multiple winners the pot will be divided accordingly.
Regarding security? Moderators holding the funds is secure enough for me.
And it's purely for fun, 1$ dollar bets or so.

    Sounds too complicated for me.

A one-time bet on the eventual winner sounds ok but that's about it.
