Customising the content of your Google Adsense Advert

Hi there,

Does anybody know what Google uses to decide the target audience for your adverts?

It seems because my friend has used the word 'currency' on his website, that Google are displaying adverts for currency exchanges, when in actual fact his site is for a completely different market sector.

Does anybody know how to influence the content of these adverts?

Keywords used, Keyword density, etc.
If only currency is used then, most probably, ads are targetted to currency exchange, forex, etc. (Hi payed keywords if you ask me).
Tell him to do some word research and use 2 or 3 words instead of just 1.
