database or autoresponder service?

    Hey guys,

    I am building a service based website, I will need to be able to email large lists of people that will be broken down into differant categories.

    Now what would be easier to set up a database or just use a service like aweber to manage those lists and use that service to send to emails to each of those categories?

    I am unsure about databases, never built one or every managed one. I was wondering out of the two options what would be easier and also better in the long term, especially when the service becomes popular?
