Paying child support is a great thing, unless the mom takes trips, blows the cash and tells the child that "we are poor and cannot afford the things you want."

One thing I disagree with, the whole money thing.

I have an uncle who is 70 and well off. His wife is way younger and I am trying not to use the B word even though it would apply to her very well.

Money is the ONLY reason she married him!

Him and my dad apparantly had some drinks together the other day and he started crying about how miserable he is.

Money taints everything and it messes things up. She is miserable as well, she missed out on true happiness because of her greed. When I was a kid, I grew up watching that garbage and I know fake when I see it.

I know a lot of people who went from dirt poor to well off. In most cases they had a woman on their side who was loving, supportive, encouraging. It is a 2 way street.

You cannot always look at someone and judge him/her by the present. When my marriage started to go down, I started to suck at my job and others go promoted before me. It is a 2 way street, you need balance in life and the focus on money can seriously taint things bad!

 

Asking a forum of website owners (computer geeks) for dating advice 'eh?

 

Yeah that is funny because most of us have forum love affairs and they get heated at times, you are right, this is an odd bunch to ask for advice
