    Dell began offering a new desktop PC on Tuesday with no operating system installed. The machine is designed for people who want to run open-source software such as Linux instead of Windows. FROM CNET

    This is good for many business considering for example my job office. It had over 50 PC all running on Linux, Start Office and many other free and open source applications. The issue is that all of those PCs came originally with Windows NT installed and MS Office. It was after some time that the conversion to open source application was made to save on licencing fees. Now with this offering like Dells open source PC many business can save on licencing fees from the very time moment of purchase.

    thats awesome, ah nuts i bought my laptop 3 weeks ago, and thats exactly what i wanted :p landed up with a sony vaio fs 640 with windows installed :(
