Hello DP members, I would like to get your opinion in this case.

This man "iowadawg" hijacks my sales thread, accusing me to be an illegal seller and that is something I cannot let go. In his post in my sales thread (post #6),

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2498067&p=17764453#post17764453

    he states the following:

"Seems to be an illegal seller and if you purchase from him you may be out of luck if you need help."

DigitalPoint forums rules of replying 2nd clause states that:

"Hijacking Thread - Do not hijack people's thread/topic. This includes (but not limited to) purposely changing the subject, posting in someone's sales thread to offer your opinion (like "great design" or "unlimited hosting is a scam" when you have no intention of buying)."

Clearly he has no intention of buying but he insist a very negative opinion and accusation about the OP. He accused me of being an illegal seller damages my credibility as a seller hence sales damage.

He is a reputed member but his attitude is not proper.

I clearly stated the facts and evidence and I move that this "iowadawg" be banned. I will be watching this case and let others know about it.

    Please take appropriate actions!

By the way, I already reported this case to the mods. Would like to get your opinion.

Seems something to do with your product. You are selling a $147 product for $12 which claims to make Copyscape passed articles for any inputted article. If you post more convincing proof like Screenshots, It would be better. I may be interested.

Even if the mods agree with you he and he is unlikely to be banned but instead would get an infraction.

As I said, I own the site and even if I sell it for $1 that's completely up to me. And I never said that I would sell the entire site! Where did you get the idea that I am selling the whole site? I clearly stated in the opening sentence "EnchantedArticles.com ENCHANTER script". That's just a part of the entire site. A module inside the site.

And my point is, regardless of who the seller is, that particular "iowadawg" should not make a post like that. That's very irresponsible of him to accuse someone without a single evidence! With his reputation, his statements have huge impact on the prospected buyers!

I am estimating that around 40 viewers of the thread read his statements and if 4 of them (10%) changed their minds because of what "iowadawg" said, I already lost $48. And that post will be in the thread forever and every thread viewer from thereon will read that accusation unless a mod delete it. This is why "THREAD HIJACKING" is a ban-able offense and shouldn't be disregarded.

Gee Dovie, You want him banned for breaking a guideline?

How bout people that break the guideline below?
Using your reasoning, if they ban iowadog for the reason stated, they should also ban you.

Ftr, iowadog's pretty darned accurate, so lighten up, junior. Youre going about this all wrong.

Where on Earth did I accused him? I didn't accused him an 'illegal seller'. I am complaining righteously clearly stating the evidences and facts. Please show equal protection for the members, we are all under and should abide the rules. And no one is above the rule, if not, none at all.

If you feel someone broke the rule, you can use the report button. This thread is as much a violation as his post, so if you insist those that blatntly violate a guideline shold be banned, you're no less at risk than he is. Lighten up and help the mods handle it instead of exacerbating it with a violation of your own.

I understand your point, and thanks for your opinion. But I don't think this thread violates any rule. Have you ever read the original post of this thread? On the initial sentence I said "Hello DP members, I would like to get your opinion in this case.". The last sentence I said "By the way, I already reported this case to the mods. Would like to get your opinion.".

This is the "General Chat" forum, I initiated a thread to get your opinion on this. So I don't think I violate any rule.

Sure. I read the opening post. Maybe you didnt, since between the two sentences you reference above it includes an accusation that he hijacked your thread and insists he be banned for it.

Just a thought... Notwithstanding the fact you're trying to market a product that will expose anyone stupid enough to buy it to the wrath of google... I'd be leary about dealing with someone that deems himself a professional writer but hasnt the reading comprehension skills to determine when he's in clear breach of guidelines, even when the applicable portion is quoted. Rather selective interpretative skills shown there.

But my guess is you dont see your product as a way to get slammed by google either. Lotsa luck with that. Imo, article spinners are crap designed to encourage thieves and morons too lazy to create unique content. Since you say this thread was started to obtain opinions... There ya go. Enjoy. :)

I have not did any business with iowadawg but from reading his posts not just on this forum but other forums for the past few years, he is a standup honest guy in my own opinion.

Instead of flaming me, I want negative rep. :)

robjones, you clearly didn't get my point. My allegations apply to every seller. THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE PRODUCT - BUT HOW THE MEMBER RESPONDED VERY NEGATIVELY TO A SALES THREAD. IOWADAWG ACCUSED THE SELLER AND NOT THE PRODUCT, so your argument in my opinion is weak.I clearly stand my point. That what he did was WRONG in all sense. What if I posted in one of your sales thread and said that "Robjones 'might be' and illegal seller, be wary of transacting with him". What would you feel?

In the first place, he has no right of giving negative accusations in the seller and the product itself, I've never given him a review copy so he should keep his opinion ONLY TO HIMSELF and not post in the thread. BUT THE REAL PROBLEM IS HE ATTACKED AND ACCUSED THE SELLER DIRECTLY.

Hey Dovie - i got your point, but you said you started this thread to seek opinions, not to make an accusation against another member, so i offered an opinion.

Btw- I know a fella that could fix that capslock for you. :)

Never got any response from moderators, and my complaint thread in "suggestions and feedback" was deleted. Well, If this happened the other way around, say I accused a very reputable member with 10,000+ posts to be an illegal seller, I will be banned within minutes. That's for sure.

As I started replying to this in the Suggestions thread... they didnt delete your thread, they merged it with this one. We also have a rule against starting duplicate threads.

So your response to someone breaking a guideline was to ignore the prohibition against duplicate threads and create dual threads that violate guideline against threads created to attack another member. For all you know they did infract the guy you're complaining about... and if you havent gotten an infraction yourself for your three concurrent violations I'd suggest not bitching about the mods, cause they're clearly cutting you some slack.

    Okay, here I am....

Shoot me with your best shot!

Oh, when I see sellers without saying a word on whether the product is theirs, they have resale rights, and so forth?
And selling a product that is $147 for $12?
Without saying whether that is for life, for a month, for a day?
I do tend to call out a seller like this.

Now my opinion? For what it's worth?
When you sell your product, do put down you own it, it is your site, and why you are selling for $12 when your site says $147 per year.
And that this $12 is for what period of time, and will the cost jump up to $147 at a certain point.

Take care and have a good life!

    I am....
