Desprate to make more money with adsense

Hi all you experts,
My site http://www.mysearchplace.com is making only abou $0.05/day with adsense. I've tried every possible placement to get more clicks but to no avail.
I know the site looks unpro, but I'm averaging 250 uniques and 100 page views/day. I really think the ctr should be better, especially on the inner pages.
Any suggestions are welcome!

Don't Look Like An Ad

Always remember, People don't visit your website for ads. They want good content.

If you make the Ads stick out with eye-popping colors, images or borders that makes them easy to recognise as ads - and people work extra hard to avoid them

The same goes for ads that are tucked away in the top, bottom or some other far corner of the page. So easy to ignore!

If you want people to click, make the ads looks like an integral part of your content.

 

I think the main problem is you're trying to make money using adsense on a directory. Have you tried charging for submissions instead?

 

Yes, but it didn't work. Most people look for free directories to add their sites to. I have several sponsored (paid) plans still in place which pays the bills, but to "upgrade" my site + template I need additional income!

 

There are many restrictions in adsense and to get a clearance is tough.But if you do get that and then if you manage to get good traffic then you may be able to earn from it.

 

Try to blend the ads color with your page's.

 

I think u said 1000 PVs .

But it is no time to be worrying about adsense.
better worry about your traffic.

 

Your site design is terrible.

 

Illusion is the best answer on ads.
the ads must be look like a content botton that they didnt know that is an adsense.
of course you need a good adsense template for that.

a text link ad just below your other links up the top with a bit of a break. <br /> so it isnt all squished up..

then, another text link down the bottom.. in your footer...

then your more news bit is the PRIME hot spot for more ads. too, perhaps,, your remaining google adsense text ad should be there,

and then right in the middle just above the square, the "amazingly ugly one!"
Put in a google searchbox...

you wont break any guidelines or tos, so everyone, including Google, will be HAPPY,,
and you will get a big jump in CTR and hopefully earnings.

but i was waiting for a while for the images to load fully then i realized they where never coming
the layout is pretty bad i mean u can find free layouts better then that

u designed it in paint right i took a better look at the graphics it looks like
trying use photoshop

 

Try to blend the AdSense Ads with your site. I think that you need to make some improvement to your site's design.

 

you really need to change that orange background. Try white background with red or blue links. And scrape the borders on the ad, keep it to only 1 ad per page
