I think in the class we are taught. Seek and identify your target before shooting. We all know Dick was well trained.

 

When aiming for flushing birds you have a blind spot, on your dominant eye side. That is why, when you aren't with the group (ie dropped behind, stopped to try your shoe/boot) you need to make yourself "known", and when you are moving back into the group, you need to make yourself "known" again. Heck, for extra safety, even with the group, I make myself known.

Example: "Bill I'm directly to your right."

As for seeking, and identifying, doesn't work in flushed birds. My way of shooting is swing through the target, and say inside, butt, head, shot. So I'm actually shooting into thin air, and hoping the bird and buck shot meet.

This news is worthless. This is just the type of crap they spoon feed Americans. Instead of talking about real news, they talk about Cheney shooting someone by mistake.

Dick Cheney has screwed up a lot more than just shooting someone by mistake, but most Americans will never get this news.....
