    Hi,

    I am doing research on different paraphilias (sexual interests in objects, situations, or individuals that are highly atypical) and I am seeing people with a different angle now. I have a few confusions. What are your views about:

    i) Are the people, who rape others, Biastophile? Because in normal scenario, I/you wouldn't want to rape any girl.
    ii) Are the people who murder others brutally, Sadists/Piquerist? Is the producer of the movie Saw, a Sadist/Piquerist?
    iii) Is being gay a paraphila?
    iv) What is the life of a Pedophile, Vorarephile, Masochist, Macrophile, Kleptophile, Erotophonophile? I mean they can't really do anything and probably they are the saddest people on Earth.
    v) ( Don't take me wrong :p ) but shouldn't opposite people be allowed to do stuff. For example Sadism is illegal in 99% of the countries. But shouldn't it be allowed for people who have Masochist partners?
    vi) Is paraphilia the main reason behind all the problems in the world? It can be, because no normal person rapes, murders or steal!
    v) Lastly do you have a paraphilia? :) If yes, please do mention which one and how do you control it or satisfy it.

    (I have a paraphilia and I know it's pretty hard for me to behave like normal people. They say I am gay! But they don't understand that I am a Macrophile thus I don't like normal girls. But I am happy that I am not a Sadist or any other with dangerous problems)

    No, I think Religion is behind all the problems of the world. I can't see sexual "differences" causing the "troubles" of Northern Ireland, the hideous situation in Syria or the uprisings in Egypt. Osama bin Laden - was he driven by his sexual urges or a genuine belief that he knew a better way to run the world? George Bush went to war because of his sexual differences?

    Maybe not just religion, I'd add in testosterone and giant sized egos.

    You are right. But I wasn't talking about Wars. I am talking about "rapes/murders/stealing"
    . For example every day you hear a rape story in India, and of course it is not because of Religion.

    Really? My country has Hindus & Muslims but they aren't the main religion. We don't get gangs of men climbing onto buses and raping young women. It's not about sex, it's about power and a society that allows young men to take their power as they find it.

    I've never worked out why young men rape old ladies - that's not about sex - you don't gain much "power" from that. And most rapists are sexually active in consensual relationships.

    haha... you yourself proved my point by saying "i've never worked out why young men rape old ladies".
    FYI: Anililagnia (Attraction by young men to older women) is a paraphilia! So 'the thing' you couldn't understand was 'this Paraphilia'! :)

    I don't think so, there's "older women" who make themselves available for all kinds of relationships and old ladies who just want to live their lives without scum beating them senseless and raping them.

    Who is talking about the character of a woman?? I am talking about a paraphilia some people are suffering from. If a guy has extreme Anililagnia, he will not care whether the "old woman"'s character is good or not!
    So again problem was caused by this paraphilia, not the woman

    No, you are giving criminals an excuse for their behaviour.

    And I wasn't talking about the character of the woman. I was saying that if you want to screw older women there are plenty that will be willing to participate. When you rape someone of any age that is a crime and inexcusable. It's not a sexual preference, it's about low self esteem and total disrespect.

    Have you got an excuse for people who rape toddlers too?

    I am not giving an excuse. I am merely saying: it CAN be a possibility that they rape in the influence of such paraphilia. Read this article about a Sadist and a Masochist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armin_Meiwes)

    My point is why would a sane person rape anyone? Would you do it?? or would I do it?? No, we won't. Because we DON'T like raping, but there is a possibility that some people LIKE to rape, thus they do!! Isn't it?

    That implies that the paraphilia controls them and that they are victims. We all make choices, they choose evil.

    Yes. Perhaps they need help too. Because you don't know how intense the feeling can be under such influence, because you don't have it. I remember the case of a guy who killed 100 children by dissolving them in acid. I don't know if it was the result of a Paraphilia or not but if it was, it means such an intense influence is present among certain individuals. And if they are not helped, they can do stuff we can't imagine.

    @OP, most of the rape incidents that happen, happen because the rapists want to humiliate, hurt the victim, rarely caused by rape fantasy. Most people who have rape fantasy do ropeplay, they don't really rape other people for real.

    OMG, this is the first time I hear about macrophilia. It's quite funny.
