Digg for Traffic

Has anyone had much luck using Digg to increase their traffic? I haven't been able to find much on the subject, although I've read that a good article can literally bury your site in traffic. I enjoy writing so this actually seems fun to me, but before I do something I like to have a strategy, goals, expectations, etc. So any tips, links, stories would be much appreciated...

So did you try to write an article per day or per week or what? How long do the articles stay out there? Is it the persistence of the articles that helps or does it seem to boost your ranking on the search engines or did you just try to regularly write articles.

    Thx for any advice...

There was a post here not a while back by another member who ended up on the front page of digg and he only got about 7,000 visitors that day.

You would have to write a good story to get visitors to come back. Most people on digg just read your story and go back to digg to discuss the story on their comments.

Excellent! I can't wait to try it out. But are you saying that if you write a good article that people will actually pull up that article on Digg for about a month afterward??

I submitted my site to DIGG and got good traffic. If many people DIGG through your post then the traffic keeps on increasing. So, it's better to submit your quality post to DIGG so that people will like it and you get good traffic.

These days, i find Stumbleupon brings in more traffic than digg.
Digg has become old and is losing its charm.

It was only when digitalpoint allowed digg exchanges. The golden days are gone now! :D

It's been over 6 months since the last time I got a site/article on the front page of Digg, but it stayed there for quite awhile. While it didn't bury my server, it did make me a pretty penny since once I landed there, I dropped TF popunders on the site.

Over 200,000 visitors in under 12 hours.

The fastest and easiest way to get on the first page on digg is to have many friends. Some people create accounts and start making friends without submitting anything at the beginning. And there are many articles on the first page that are not so good.
    I am drunk, I don't know what I'm talking about ...
