I've been so busy working on my sites and visiting sites like this one to learn the trade; I have had no time for these social websites.

Until several folks posted on another forum how well they did using these folks, I would have never taken the time to visit the site much less submit anything.

I find it quite interesting that they are so thoroughly slapping the hand that feeds them. It's a shame really as it is a great concept.

 

I think the problems over at Digg have been coming for awhile now. A quick search on Google for Digg Sucks gives you 2,130,000 results. Just a quick breeze through some of the results shows that people think that Digg is being controlled by a minority of its users. I don't know where people got the information from but here is a couple of excepts.

66% of all stories posted on digg that make it to the homepage and pushed there by the same 60 people.


Normally, editorial control not being in the hands of users isn’t a big deal. However, Digg’s supposed best feature is social collaboration.

Horsecrap. It’s also its downfall.

60% of Digg’s front page is the top 0.03% users.

And now that I have wasted my time talking about Digg I will get to work and do something useful.

As soon as they spot i I'd imagine, and ban the account also. It looks like a good way of losting a couple of hundred $ in light of recent events.

 

Ya know, a SEO oriented digg where it was perfectly legit to pimp your own sites and news stories would be cool.

Rule #1: Spam is good.
Rule #2: All non-porn stories are acceptable.
Rule #3: Admins have and will exercise the right to take down stories that are inappropriate
Rule #4: Vote early and vote often!
