    No, quite a few are not banned, yet...

    But banning IP addresses is quite a lame step IMO, there are many people use shared IP address, so of they ban 1 IP it will affect a whole lot of people.
    Additionally many people are using dynamic IP address so banning would have any effect on them plus one can use proxy to fool digg..
    So its useless...

    Exactly!! I don't think I did any dmage to them :eek: They should have begun by sending warings followed by banning users and finally banning the IP.

    Digg is too big now for any of us to affect its actions. When they first started techie web guys like us were the lifeblood of the site but they don't need us anymore.

    Just glad google/yahoo/msn don't take the same stance when we self promote our sites in the search engines!

    Well, one good thing that usually comes from situations like this of mass banning of people or closing down a whole site for some reason usually results in more of those types of sites popping up but where the owners of the new sites create something better and learn from what someone else has done.

    Basically what im saying is the death or ending of something usually sprouts whole new roots elsewhere, you can bet your bottom dollar that good will come out of this, a happy ending :)

    Its a bit like torrent sites and places like that, close down the biggie and ten more pop up, only better and stronger than the previous.

    Wow, first submission, new membership (last Friday), 19 votes. Did post in the look at my post thread. Supported one of others in thread but did nothing on a couple others that were mediocre. Never participated in the join our group thread - figured those folks would get banned sooner or later.

    Banned. But, hey, I'm with good company!

    I did notice that they have not banned everyone who supported my story - it would appear just the DPers.

    I don't see why folks can't post, hey I put something on there if you like it - you know what to do. Everytime they do it advertised their site too.

    What I find exceptionally low class is that they still have our stories on there. If I'm not good enough to participate, then take off my stuff. Why should they get any play out of my work?

    Whatever.

    No wonder other forums are blacklisting the site. Should have picked up on that sooner before getting involved in the first place.

    I made a post about mass banning on serch feature news blog and I think someone posted that on digg, I tried to access my account this morning and whooosh it was gone..
