Digg / Stumbleupon /

I was wondering if anyone has any basic tutorials as to how sites like Digg and Stumpleupon (and if there are any other good ones?) work and how to use them (for a total noob). I was also wondering, what's to stop someone from just making a bunch of fake accounts and digging their own stuff?

 

The key to getting dugg to the top is having a lot of friends that give your posts a good kick start. 50/60 friends is what you need to get it started. Don't abuse the shout system use it only when necessary.

As for the tutorials you can find some by googling or like this one which is on a squidoo lense or like this one here. Just search for them.

i have a question, does it really matter about getting to the first page or could you just submit the link and leave it and still get a little traffic?

 

you could just leave it but then it has to be some sort of news or post like "Aliens have landed on Earth" or something like it to get dugg like crazy. Shouting to some 20 loyal friends is a good way to get a decent amount of traffic. However, you have to remember that you should digg the posts of friends who shout you otherwise they won't be so helpful when you try shouting them.

 

It's not a basic site, it's a powerful site, so no you can't do that. Cheating is something they crack down on, and no you can't just signup new ones because you have the same ip.

You can't even get loads of friends anymore and shout your page to them to digg because you need so many people not on your friends list to digg it.
