I guess this is why I could never get any good info from them to begin with and moved on shortly. I still have a free account there. It is just harder to find the free sign up.

That is TOO funny. I could see this turning into a "Howard Stern" moment...Howard Stern fans used to call up serious radio talk shows and pretend to have a valid question/comment and then half way through (on live radio/tv), they start yelling, "HOWARD STERN RULES!!". I almost posted something to that effect (DigitalPopint rules!) over at WMW, but I was a good girl and refrained... :D

LMAO - I used to pop into WMW every so often, didn't they have some "free" tools? Then one day I got the "Either we require login from users from your ISP because of abuse, or... blah blah blah" and then I found some genuine free tools... here :D

lol, what in the world? or should i say what in the webmasterworld? I honestly don't visit forums that often because I spend most of my time stuck in Dreamweaver or Photoshop but am taking a break from that for a few. I have read a few posts about WMW today on here and think its hilarious. I have seen that site before infact I noticed it just yesterday (before i read any of these posts) and i looked at it for half a second, thought it was pretty ugly and just left instantly. Sites with that much text on the main page just send me running as i dont have the patience for it. I guess I am glad I hadn't spent much time there, they sound real lame :p

Great to have you here Design1, there are some out there that think they control webmasters, but that is a fatal flaw, some also think that webmasters are not all that smart which is even worse.

Thanks anthonycea it's a pleasure to be here.. :D

There are quite a few other forums out there I have taken a look at and have been rather shocked at they way people treat each other.. I like the community here so far, it seems everyone is really nice and helpful. :)

Yes, at some places you have to be a member of an exclusive club of insiders before you are anyone or accepted.

I think we accept and like just about anyone that is real here regardless of their level of knowledge and that is good.

That is the one thing I hated about Webhostingtalk (when I went there :p) when you get banned, your name is added to the filter list... <_< Awful Idea.

Very aweful. They just threatened to ban me at http://www.sitetutor.net
    The forum I once started.
It has been resold twice without my knowledge.
I own Site Tutor, Inc. and was trying to get some kind of partnership going with them.

I am pissed so forgive my venting.

I am about to call my attorney and start the process of whatever it's called when you get a site or domain due to having the right to the name.

If they don't even want to partner with me and keep ignoring my emails, what should I do?

Do you own the legal trademark for the domain?

Unless you own the Federal Trademark that is registered with the Trademark office there is not much anyone can do for you if you sold the domain.

It is not worth paying a lawyer to pursue the case.

Let them ban you, big deal.

They can not stop you from using SiteTutor, Inc. if it is a registered corporation.

    You do own SiteTutor.com right?

    They have .net

I would not worry about it.

a threat letter from a large firm may work in your favor. I would pursue nothing beyond a few letters though.

There is a function within ICANN that decides domain disputes, maybe someone will pull it, if I was not so exhausted I would look for it.

But it is mostly for folks that bought a name of a registered trademark and are trying to blackmail that holder, the names are usually taken and given to the trademark holder.

SiteTutor should just forget about it if he does not own the domain.

Now can we get back to the topic of the thread, cursing Shawn, who wants to get the ball rolling :D :p :)

    I don't own a TM (yet).

I bought the .com in 2001 I believe and then me and my former partner built the forum on the .net.

She is the one who registered it and then changed the pass when things went bad.

the current owners seem to run it very well I have to say, just the mods are a bunch of morons.

It's registered til 2012 .. so ... forget backordering

I did own it and it was taken from me.

I was fine with it at the time but wished I'd been informed that it was for sale.

    Anyhow,
would be funny if sitetutor.net added a filter to the word "sitetutor" ;)
