Disappearing/Re-appearing ads

    Hello,

I just had a question regarding the ad-blocks. I added three ad-block to about 70 pages on my site and everything was config'd properly as they all run off the PHP include tag. What happens occasionally is when I view the page that has all three ads, sometimes there will be nothing but a white space where the ad is suppose to be. The indentation of the ad block is there, but just no ad. Yet when I check it a few minutes later, the ad returns. Is there a reason why the ads kinda appear and then disappear or is it something I have to fix on my end?

    Thanks in advance!

    Brad :D

Empty ad blocks sometimes means that there isn't enough ads to fill all 3 boxes. Do all three boxes go white at the same time or just some?

    Hello,

Yes just some ad boxes go white, not all.

Is there a solution to this? Perhaps selecting different categorie for each one, how would that be accomplished?

    Thanks,

    Brad.

Same happens to me. I guess that's normal. It's up to Google to decide to give you ads at this moment or not. We can only speculate on this.
What is interesting to me is why G gives me less and sometimes completely different ads than it shows in it's preview tool.

Unless your page is content heavy, placing 3 box ads, especially the big boxes or skys, will usually result in empty ads. To get rid of them, use Adsense's collapsing ad option, so that if there isn't an ad available for one or two of the boxes, they'll "collapse" in on themselves as if they aren't there, so that your site doesn't have blank boxes where the ads should be.

But it's probably a better idea to get rid of one or two, and use a combination of big box and ad links. Remember that covering your page in a ton of Adsense ads is not always a good thing. In my experience, properly placed one or two ads converts better than slapping Adsense everywhere.
